Sorry 4 tha wait. I promise there’s a new podcast coming soon. So to keep you busy until then, I figured I’d put up a funnier music video this week. This is “Work It” from the Norwegian duo – Ylvis. Its kinda like a European version of The Lonely Island. Enjoy!
Honestly, I’m totally tired of this song. It used too much for promotions, I’ve seen them perform it enough, and I admittedly put it in too many of my own music playlists. That being said, this music video/faux-trailer is awesome! Appearances from Shaun White, Corbin Bernsen, Sean Patrick Flanery, Diora Baird, Christian Serratos, Todd Bridges, and Tricia Helfer. But “Las Teclas de Negro” are the funniest part.
For this episode…we go two guys, a girl, and a podcast as we welcome Ashley, the office vixen here at the radio station. Once we get a little alcohol flowing, the conversation really opens up for some lewd talk of past sexual encounters, preferences, and other shenanigans. Keith goes to a surprise Dane Cook show at the Hollywood Improv. And we talk a little bit about busted chicks, weed, and 80′s rockstars.
New video from the super sexy MIA, “Bad Girls”. This looks like the most fun you can have with BMW’s in the desert. Oh, and the song isn’t too bad either. It’s something different and original sounding in an industry where almost everything sounds the same.
It blows my mind that this band isn’t more famous. Justin Furstenfeld is one of the best songwriters in rock music today. And, if you ever get a chance to see Blue October play live – do it! In Des Moines, they played one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.
Stick with us, this is our longest show to date as fellow radio guy, Brad Nolan, stopped in to deliver some Taco Bell to a hungry Mike. We break down some of this year’s “Best Picture” nominees, Mike teaches us a little bit about water polo, Keith has his take on the 3 branches of the military, Brad discusses some American Idol highlights, and we amp up the talks of homophobia and rape. (movies, people!)
So, there was a big deal this past week about Lana Del Rey appearing on Saturday Night Live and a bunch of people came out against her, saying it was the worst performance ever on SNL. I hadn’t really heard of her music until the controversy. After watching her SNL performance (which really isn’t THAT bad), I looked up other videos of her music. I gotta say…Lana Del Rey rocks…I don’t care if there’s plastic surgery, if she’s been packaged up and fed to us by the music industry, or even that she moved to England and now has a Madonna accent.
For the 2nd episode, we cover a bunch of topics. Keith sees an early screening of Mark Wahlberg’s Contraband. Mike enjoys motion seats. We talk about a couple stand-up comedy shows seen at the Laugh Factory and the Hollywood Improv. Mike decides to piss off half of our demographic. And, since Coachella’s lineup was just announced, we both cover our best concert experience.
Since I mentioned him on the 2nd podcast episode, I figured I’d share one of Donald Glover’s tracks for everyone to enjoy. Check out his other tracks, and make sure to watch him on Community on NBC.
Just came accross this song yesterday. Really powerful song. Lupe is getting political on this one…
